About Kentucky Lake

Did you know Kentucky Lake is the nation's largest body of water between the Great Lakes and Gulf of Mexico? At 184 miles in length and spanning two states, Kentucky Lake is a recreational haven for fishermen, boaters and outdoor enthusiasts. Anglers can enjoy targeting bass, crappie, catfish, panfish and a variety of other species. With 160,000 acres of water, there's plenty of room for recreational boaters of all sorts. About Land Between The Lakes

Situated between Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley, Land Between The Lakes features over 265 square miles of backroads, hiking and biking trails, water trails, historical exhibits and interactive attractions. Visitors can enjoy the Woodlands Nature Station, an interactive wildlife exhibit that has the feel of a zoo. Step back in time at the Homeplace 1850s Living History Farm and watch interpreters demonstrate pre-Civil War farm life. The Golden Pond Planetarium offers daily shows and often hosts special astronomy exhibits.  Turkey Bay OHV area inside LBL features 2,500 acres of ATV and Jeep madness. About Lake Barkley

To the east of Kentucky Lake and Land Between The Lakes you'll find Lake Barkley. While smaller than it's sister lake, it's an ideal place for anglers and outdoor enthusiasts to experience. With less boat traffic, Lake Barkley can be a great place for recreational boaters, especially in the summer months during higher pool levels. Lake Barkley and Kentucky Lake are connected by a free-flowing canal near the dams at Grand Rivers, Kentucky. When visiting Lake Barkley, folks can check out the quaint towns of Grand Rivers, Kuttawa, Eddyville, Cadiz and Dover for shops, restaurants and lodging opportunities.
